About Credit Reports

creditreports.co.uk is a First Report service for business-to-business credit reports on UK companies. Here is who we are, where our data comes from, and the range of reports we offer.

Who we are

creditreports.co.uk is a First Report service. We give UK businesses a simple, pay-as-you-go way to get a credit report on another company before trading with it or extending credit. Searches and reports are delivered through First Report, which runs the report, account and payment service behind this site.

We focus on one thing: company and business credit reports for business-to-business decisions.

Where our data comes from

Company credit reports are built from official and commercial sources, including Companies House filings, insolvency notices in The Gazette, and county court judgment data from the Registry Trust, combined with payment and risk information. Reports reflect the latest data held at the time of your search. See where UK credit data comes from for more.

We use evidence-based assessments and explain analysis in clear language. A credit score and credit limit are a well-evidenced guide to inform your decision, not a guarantee of how a company will behave, and report items are shown where available.

A report for every credit decision

Different decisions call for different depth, so there is a report to match. The Basic report is a fast, low-cost check before trading; the Standard report adds filed accounts, public record and director detail for setting a credit limit; and the Credit Analysts report gives the fullest picture, with ratios, a written appraisal and an Altman Z-Score, for larger or higher-value exposures. Sole traders and partnerships are covered by the Non-Limited report, and a Director Search traces the people behind a business for deeper due diligence.

Whether you are vetting a new customer, reviewing a supplier, setting or revising a credit limit, or keeping watch on the businesses you already trade with, you can buy a single report as you need it or take an annual licence with monitoring for higher volumes.
